Xtreme philately is a great way for any philatelist to take his stamp collecting passion outdoors!
This activity, will give you a sense of adventure, excitement, and will be a fun challenge...
The Extrme pyramid
The Extreme pyramid (divided into eight) indicates which aspects of the world are harder or easier to use in order to create an Extreme Philately photo.
Scenery- This category includes everything from landscapes to city views, and to landmarks.
This is of course the hardest due to the fact that it requires a huge amount of time and searching. But the result will always be worth it!
Animals- if it's domestic or wild animals, birds, or even marine life. You're going to have a hard time finding them, getting close enough, and taking a good picture.
Flora- Flora as in flowers and plants, are much easier since they stay still and getting close to them isn't that big of a challenge.
But it can still get difficult, mostly because the real flower will usually not look as nicely as the one on the stamp.
Traveling- This will include traveling equipment, maps, and monuments.
Architecture- Buildings are a lot easier compared to the other categories above, but even so, due to their size, it might take a while until finding a good spot to take the picture from.
Technology- This might be the vastest category of them all. It includes all means of modern transportation, electronics, weapons, etc.
Art- Both paintings and statues are very easy items of which to take pictures.
Indoor items- By far the easiest type of extreme philately, is taking a picture of an indoor item. This could mean furniture, books, food, etc.
The following are examples of extreme philately pictures I made so far:
